The Chianti Classico is fresh and refined with fine-grained, well-integrated tannins and an elegant structure. Notes of cranberry and ripe redcurrant are followed by clove and spice. Refined, yet approachable, with a lingering finish.
More about the Producer:
Vecchie Terre di Montefili is a lovely estate in the highlands between Panzano and Greve in the heart of Chianti Classico. Grapes have been grown for winemaking for at least 750 years on hills within the farm’s current boundary. For most of those years the monks of the nearby Badia a Passignano tended the vines. In 1979 Roccaldo Acuti purchased the land and transformed the property into a potent force in the revival of Chianti Classico as an appellation famous for outstanding wines.
Montefili embodies a philosophy of respect for nature, tradition, and the craft of winemaking. Our ethos revolves around creating wines that are a true expression of our unique terroir.
Each parcel is grown and vinified individually to allow its fruit to express its full potential.
