2022 Kermit Lynch 'Cypress Cuvee' Cotes du Rhone
Hand-selected by Kermit Lynch, this Cypress Cuvée 2022 is a Grenache-Syrah blend that captures the essence of the Southern Rhone.
2019 Famille Perrin Vacqueyras Les Christins
Cultivated on the robustly clay and stony soils of the Ouveze valley, Grenache, the grape that forms the heart of this wine, develops power and depth. Its characteristic aromas of chocolate, cherry and fig marry perfectly with those of the Syrah.
2022 Domaine Raymond Usseglio Chateauneuf du Pape Girard
This astonishing 2022 Chateauneuf from very old Grenache vines has giant depth and concentration of black fruit aromas with notes of spices and dry earth, beneath which is a deep foundation of super-fine tannins. Very long, imposing finish with stacks of licorice and black olive character. Great aging potential.
2022 Jean-Louis Chave Selection Saint Joseph Offerus
100% Syrah
Jean-Louis Chave is one of the most cerebral and hard working winemakers we’ve ever met. He took over his family’s domaine in 1993 but as if that wasn’t enough work, a few years later he began reclaiming his family’s hillside vineyards in St. Joseph. These vineyards were abandoned and required re-terracing and re-planting. These are old vines that were only worked by hand or by horse and grown biodynamically on granite. The wine is fermented in large, wood, open top fermenters and then finished in old oak demi-muids.
Offerus’ shows smoky notes of ripe dark fruit and violets, with spice, meat and earth undertones. Pair with all things grilled!
2023 Domaine Romaneaux-Destezet (Herve Souhaut) Syrah
Hervé Souhaut owns vineyards of old and ancient vines—between 50 to 100 years-old—just opposite the storied hills of Hermitage in Saint Joseph, one of the finest areas for wine production on the planet; thanks in part to its elevation, ancient vineyard sites and the southeastern and southern exposures.
Violets, bacon fat and black cherry all interplay on the nose. Deep black cherry and juicy plum flavors meshed with candied violets and cool strawberry flavors on the palate. The moderate tannins highlight the fruity components on the finish.
2021 Alain Graillot Crozes-Hermitage Rouge
100% Syrah
In France’s Northern Rhone Valley, there are few names as revered as Graillot.
The domaine’s status as one of the top addresses in all of France is without question and the entire lineup are must-haves for any serious Northern Rhone fan.
