This is a delicious and affordable Nebbiolo dream wine.
The winery was founded in 1851 and overlooks the village of Monta.
With tons of great spice and racy cherry flavors, it's ready to drink with many dishes.
Nino Costa's Langhe Nebbiolo is made from 100% Nebbiolo from 30 year old vineyards situated in Montà at an altitude of 280-320 meters above sea level on sandy soils. Grapes are fermented in stainless steel and aged in a mix of steel and wood barrels. Deep ruby color with purple highlights, the Langhe Nebbiolo emits aromas of currants, cranberries and spice. The palate is lively and refreshing with firm tannins and vibrant acidity. Enjoy with a salumi pasta.
More about the Producer:
Nino Costa was founded by the Costa family in 1851. The estate consists of seven hectares nestled on a hilltop overlooking the village of Montá in the heart of Roero in Piedmont. Winemaker Alessandro Costa grows Arneis, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Favorita and Brachetto in their yellow-ochre sandy soils and his parents, Nino and Gemma, run the Azienda. After returning from his studies in 2007, Alessandro fully took the reins of the estate from his father in 2009, completely overhauling the property, cellar and vinification. The vineyards are dotted along the wooded hillsides of the region, though all of them are within one mile of the winery. All grapes are grown with organic methods, using natural fertilizers and zero herbicides. For Alessandro, wine is such a major part of his life, it is like family, “a natural companion of this everyday routine.”
