“Deep and elegantly muscular, the 2019 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru (Domaine Louis Jadot) is a layered, fleshy but tightly wound wine evocative or orange rind, rose petals, sweet berry fruit and raw cocoa. Full-bodied and concentrated, with a long, mineral finish, it will reward bottle age.”

“The 2019 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru has a floral bouquet of black and blueberry fruit infused with crushed violet and iris petal. This is completely destemmed, so it does not convey the same amplitude. The palate is medium-bodied, with light Earl Grey and ash notes tincturing the black fruit. Fine structure and focus here. Light on its feet toward the long, sustained finish. This is a superb Bonnes-Mares. (NM)”

“(100% from the Chambolle side that combines about one-third terres rouges and the remainder from terres blanches). Liqueur-like aromas of plum, kirsch, rose petal and violet are trimmed by notes of oak and menthol. There is decidedly more volume, if decidedly less refinement, to the big-bodied and markedly powerful flavors that possess an abundance of sappy dry extract that imparts a lovely texture to the intensely structured, muscular and impressively persistent finale. This is a buy and forget you own it wine for at least 10 years and a wine that should amply repay 20+ years.”

“This domaine-owned parcel of Bonnes-Mares was acquired in 1985 from Domaine Clair-Daü and replanted. The grapes are destemmed and fermented, with both punching down and pumping over, before ageing for 18 months in cask to give a wine of incredible power and depth. Superb, dark fruit aromas with hints of violets and a salty minerality are sustained through a lingering finish by the rich extract and freshness. Drinking Window 2021 - 2025.”
