Location: France, Jura
Grapes: Gamay, Chardonnay
Soil: Granite for Gamay, limestone for Chardonnay
After several years of significant crop losses, Jean-François had to get creative to increase his wine production. Together with his sister Anne, he reached out to friends in Alsace, Beaujolais, and Savoie to source additional grapes. They even went so far as to buy vines in Beaujolais. Each Vin de France cuvée is a blend of estate-grown grapes from the Jura and purchased (or estate) grapes from other regions, enabling Jean-François to use his winemaking expertise with local Jura varieties to craft a distinctive and innovative range of wines. All the vineyards involved in this project are farmed organically.
