More about the Producer:
Tokaj Hétszölö, situated in the heart of Tokaj-Hegyalja on the southern slope of Mount Tokaj, was founded in 1502 by the Garai family. The creation of the Estate owes nothing to chance: the Garai family simply selected the best 7 parcels of the land in the region, hence the name - Hétszölöomeans "7 parcels of vineyard" in Hungarian. Over the past five hundred years, it has passed through a series of prestigious owners including Habsburg royal family culminating with its 2009 acquistion by Michel Reybier, preserving one of the last true historical houses of Tokaj. The estate's Hétszölö and Nagyszolo vineyards have been classified as premier growing areas since 1772. Sitting on volcanic rock blanketed with a thick layer of löss, the vineyards span 55 hectares. Through organic farming, traditional vinification and famous long cellaring, Tokaj Hétszölö is amongst the best expressions of both history and prestige in Tokaj .
