The original Springbank whisky has been distilled legally on the site of the present distillery since 1828, and probably illicitly since well before then! Known and loved amongst whisky enthusiasts the world over, Springbank is produced using lightly-peated barley and a unique two-and-a-half-times distillation. Produced using the most traditional of production techniques. lightly peated malt and is aged in 70% bourbon casks and 30% sherry casks. The result is an impressive single malt that is packed with flavor but is also extremely drinkable. Classic Campbeltown brine and sea spray with some notes of cooked pineapple, sultanas, apple sauce, apricot and citrus. mix of coal smoke, tropical fruits, pineapple, apricots and caramel toffees. Possibly one of the most complex 12 year old malts around.
