This Mtsvane sings with floral purity and crunchy fruit, delivering waves of citrus-kissed stone fruits wrapped in crystalline mountain freshness.
No skin contact, finished in stainless steel.
Mtsvane Bodbiskhevi represents a departure from Pheasant's Tears' traditional qvevri approach, showcasing Kakhuri Mtsvane's inherent character through direct pressing and stainless steel fermentation. Sourced from sandstone soils in the village of Bodbiskhevi, facing north towards the Great Caucasus Mountains in the Alazani Valley, the grapes benefit from this elevated site's unique microclimate. Without skin contact or qvevri aging, the wine expresses Mtsvane's pure varietal character - a grape whose name means "green" in Georgian, referencing its yellowish-green berries. The variety, considered older than Rkatsiteli, accumulates sugar easily while retaining vibrant acidity, creating wines that balance richness with freshness.
Bursting with white flowers and lime zest, this Mtsvane displays intense orchard fruit aromas alongside peach and fruit tree blossoms. The palate reveals stone fruit, tropical notes, and citrus brightness, all carried by luscious acidity and distinctive mineral overtones.
The wine's floral qualities and bright acidity beautifully complement Italian burrata con fiori di zucca.
