A polished and complex wine with aromas of candied citrus, herbs, angelica, restrained apricot pits and a hint of glue. Medium-bodied, silky and textured, with refreshing integrated acidity and a savory finish with iodine depth.
An estate cru at the foot of Castagneto Carducci, Costa di Giulia is one of the first white Bolgheri wines produced: since ‘97, Vermentino has been flanked by Sauvignon blanc for 40% of the final blend. The two varieties are fermented separately. Costa di Giulia embodies Bolgheri's potential for white grapes, giving a wine of great class and longevity.
The nose reveals aromas of stone fruit, preserved lemon and pear, underpinned by delicate almond notes and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is a creamy, slender white wine with a remarkable minerality – bolgheri's proximity to the sea gives it a natural saltiness that harmonises perfectly with the tropical fruitiness of guava and peach. A wine that proves Bolgheri's potential for white grape varieties with great class and longevity every year.
