The product that started the whole project. Malört is the Swedish word for wormwood and also the name of this traditional drink. Interestingly enough, it has strong roots in Chicago and that is exactly where the folks at Letherbee have started their craft distillery, and this excellent malört is their first product. To create it, a neutral grain spirit is infused with wormwood and natural sugar. The nose is driven by notes of dill, brine, and bitter herbs, while the sweetness also clearly comes through. The palate has a great balance of the bitter and sweet.
