100% Grüner Veltliner
From 10 years planted to 3.5 ha in the Spielberg and Berg Eisenhut vineyards whose soils are comprised of red stone and limestone. At a slightly higher elevation of 330-350m, the yields are amount to 50 hl/ha and are hand-harvested in early October. Vineyard sorted, whole-cluster spontaneous fermented for 2-8 weeks in stainless steel, with time on lees until the end of November and is then aged for three months in stainless steel.
Familie Bauer is a family run operation, run solely by the 5 Bauers. They sustainably farms 17 hectares in the Wagram district of Lower Austria (Niederösterreich), where they produce a variety of top shelf wines in addition to their everday liters!
