The wine has a deep color and an aromatic nose; it is rich and unctuous on the palate, perfectly enveloped in silky tannins. This vintage is distinguished by a beautiful balance of power, freshness, and elegance.
***This wine is also available in a 750ml bottle.
Critical Acclaim:
The winter was mild and particularly rainy, which replenished the soil's water reserves. Although the alternation between hot days and rainy spells during spring led to pressures regarding the vineyard’s health, the beginning of the summer was very mild. The vine’s development was slowed down by the cool temperatures in August, which enabled the grapes to develop a good level of acidity. The harvest took place under ideal weather conditions.
Vinification and aging
The hand-picked grapes are rigorously sorted in the vineyard. The wine is aged for 18 months in oak barrels, 75% of which are new.
The blend:
Cabernet Sauvignon (69%), Merlot (26%), Cabernet Franc (3%), Petit Verdot (2%).
Situated at the entrance of Pauillac, Chateau Lynch Bages is an estate that has left its mark on the history of the Médoc wine region. Although the terroir of Bages has been known since the 16th century, it wasn’t until the 18th century that it gained its recognition. With the son of an Irish citizen named Thomas Lynch at the helm, the Bages wine was recognized at the Universal Exhibition in Paris. Chateau Lynch-Bages became part of the J-M Cazes family on the eve of the Second World War and is one of the finest references among the fine Pauillac wines.
Constantly seeking excellence and innovation, Chateau Lynch-Bages carried out a new plot division in 2006, breaking down 90 original plots used for the production of wine into 180 to 200 sub-plots.
