A true cold-climate Syrah with aromas of black pepper, sage, juniper and subtle notes of olive tapenade. Bright and light-bodied, its fruit hints at elderberry and black raspberry that has been mixed with anise in a leather bota. An age-worthy marvel.
The 4.2-acre Stolo Vineyard is organically, dry-farmed and lies just a stone’s throw from the ocean in Cambria. Two out of three mornings, it is covered in cool, ocean fog from the nearby Pacific. The temperature rarely reaches 80° F and harvest is in November, placing it at the very spear tip of cold-climate California viticulture.
Farmed by sommelier turned avant-garde, farmer-winemaker Raj Parr, using the same regenerative and biodynamic practices developed at his adjacent sister property Phelan Farms.
