A micro terroir of 0.22 ha situated in Les Deschamps on the hillside of Chenas appellation. Carmine red robe. A nose displaying red berries with a touch of mineral and smokiness. In the palate, the wine is complex with some fine and silky tannins. The new superstar in Beaujolais. His vineyards are striking – with lots of diversity, excellent south facing exposure and picturesque backgrounds. The vines are not trellised and quite old at 40-111 years old. His vines are carefully maintained and are surrounded by the beauty of poppy flowers. All work is manual including harvest with an average yield of 45hl/ha. As expected from his vineyard practices he allows for native yeast fermentation and adds no sulfites. Vivid red. A suave, highly perfumed bouquet evokes red fruit liqueur, exotic flowers, smoky minerals and peppery spices. Sweet, expansive black raspberry and violet pastille flavors stain the palate and show a suave blend of concentration and vivacity. A sappy, concentrated yet vibrant wine that finishes silky, focused and very long, featuring harmonious tannins and lingering raspberry and spicecake notes.
