For twenty years Meurgey was director at Domaine Champy, bringing that estate to international fame. Like his good friend Dominique Lafon, Meurgey knew of the untapped potential to make exceptional wines in his native Maconnais, as evidenced by his stunning new releases below. But beware: Burgundy drinkers are catching onto the great quality and value of this region and with the near perfect 2014 vintage, these won’t last — we encourage you to stock up today! 60-year old vines. The wine is mostly vinified in stainless steel tanks, with up to 20% fermented and aged in oak barrels for older vines. This facilitates the full expression of the potential of old vines and the complexity of these terroirs.
