Its fine-grained and well-integrated tannins provide delicate structure to the layered flavors of this wine. Notes of cranberry and ripe red currant are followed by clove and spice. Elegant and refined with a lingering finish.
Vecchie Terre di Montefili is a lovely estate in the highlands between Panzano and Greve in the heart of Chianti Classico. Grapes have been grown for winemaking for at least 750 years on hills within the farm’s current boundary. For most of those years the monks of the nearby Badia a Passignano tended the vines. In 1979 Roccaldo Acuti purchased the land and transformed the property into a potent force in the revival of Chianti Classico as an appellation famous for outstanding wines.
