Verdejo is without a doubt one of the grapes that are misunderstood in the wine world. It has been labeled as “the Spanish Sauvignon Blanc” and funneled through restaurant lists and retail shops as such. Ismael Gonzalo of MicroBio Wines challenges this homogenious notion with a rich line of wines made from own rooted, old Verdejo vines. La Banda del Argilico is Verdejo picked at two different times to create the interplay of rich texture and stony, linear minerality. The wine spends five months on its lees, before being racked and bottled unfined and unfiltered. No Sulfur added.
