From a highly regarded vineyard very near to the Grand Cru sites of Puligny
Elegantly balanced and concentrated, this will age for many years
Produced in very limited quantities, this is a classic Burgundian rarity
94 Wine Advocate "The last vintage for a site that's due for replanting, the 2020 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts (Domaine Louis Jadot) wafts from the glass with aromas of freshly baked bread, buttered popcorn, citrus zest and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, taut and concentrated, it's chiseled and mineral, with tangy acids and a chalky finish. The 2020 vintage has turned out beautifully at this address."
Puligny-Montrachet shares with its neighbor Chassagne-Montrachet some of the finest white wine vineyards in the world. This commune’s Premier Cru vineyards stretch across the upper half of the Puligny slope, from Meursault to Chassagne. Like Les Combettes, Referts is located on the eastern edge of Puligny on fairly shallow clay and chalk soil with small stones. In winemaking, the Chardonnay grapes are fermented and matured in oak barrels.
