Then suave and surprisingly ripe in the mouth; classically dry but not at all austere, with well-judged extraction to the fla vors of black raspberry, graphite and minerals. Rich, structured wine with a slow-building finish featuring substantial but harmonious tannins and terrific sweetness for all its backbone.
